Sumsub has rolled out its Travel Rule solution at Bitazza Thailand ahead of new regulatory requirements expected later this year.

Thailand’s Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) is preparing to require digital asset businesses to collect and securely exchange specific information on qualifying digital asset transfers.

The rule follows recommendations from the Financial Action Task Force and aims to strengthen safeguards against money laundering and terrorist financing.

Bitazza Thailand is a digital asset broker licensed by Thailand’s Ministry of Finance and regulated by the SEC.

The company began working with Sumsub in 2025 on customer verification, anti-money laundering controls and risk management.

Sumsub said its Travel Rule directory covers more than 2,100 virtual asset service providers.

    Tanawat Sutuntivorakoon

Tanawat Sutuntivorakoon, Chief Executive Officer of Bitazza Thailand, said,

“The implementation of the Travel Rule represents another important step in strengthening Thailand’s digital asset ecosystem.

We have proactively invested in upgrading our compliance infrastructure ahead of the official implementation to ensure our customers continue to receive services that meet international standards while maintaining the highest levels of security, transparency, and trust.”

    Penny Chai

Penny Chai, Vice President for Asia Pacific at Sumsub, said,

“Through our partnership with Bitazza Thailand, we’re combining secure cross-border data exchange with the identity verification and risk management capabilities regulated businesses need to scale confidently.

As more regulators across the region adopt similar frameworks, this kind of trust infrastructure will be essential to keeping Thailand’s digital asset ecosystem competitive and internationally connected.”
