The Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) and the Bank of Thailand (BOT) have signed a MoU on cybersecurity cooperation and digital fraud protection.

The agreement formalises and expands their ongoing collaboration to strengthen cyber resilience and combat digital fraud across their respective financial sectors.

The regulators will share information on cybersecurity and digital fraud, including regulatory updates, incident developments, and threat intelligence affecting the financial sector.

They will also support competency building through joint staff training, study visits, and exchanges of research and policy insights.

In addition, MAS and BOT will conduct joint cross-border cybersecurity and crisis management exercises to enhance operational preparedness.

MAS Managing Director Chia Der Jiun and BOT Governor Vitai Ratanakorn signed the agreement during the 31st Executives’ Meeting of East Asia-Pacific Central Banks Governors’ Meeting in Singapore on 22-24 July 2026.

    Chia Der Jiun

“Cyber risks and digital fraud are key transnational threats confronting our region and calls for closer collaboration to combat these risks,”

    said Chia.

    Vitai Ratanakorn

“As cyber threats and digital fraud continue to evolve rapidly amidst growing financial connectivity and technological advancement, closer collaboration between MAS and BOT will help deepen mutual capabilities and achieve seamless cross-border intelligence exchange to counter emerging threats,”

    said Ratanakorn.

The MoU establishes a framework for MAS and BOT to enhance cooperation in cybersecurity and digital fraud protection, supporting a more resilient and secure financial ecosystem.
