    Bundesbank president is latest ECB governing council member to call for European CBDC

    Joachim Nagel

    Joachim Nagel has said Europe should defend its values to hold its own in a “changed” world.

    In a speech on March 1 at the 157th Baden-Baden Unternehmer Gespräche, an entrepreneur conference, the Bundesbank president said the continent should uphold the “rules-based international trade” order to the best of its abilities. He cited the latest trade agreements between the European Union and both India and the South American trade bloc Mercosur as “very welcome” examples of international trade.
