Delhi Actual Property Information: NDMC extends final date for property tax cost with amnesty scheme

The North Delhi Municipal Company has prolonged the final date for availing the amnesty scheme for cost of property tax with 100 per cent waiver of each curiosity and penalty to March 31, officers stated on Tuesday.

The earlier final date for a similar was February 28.

Chairman of Standing Committee of the North Delhi Municipal Company (NDMC) Jogi Ram Jain stated the civic physique has prolonged the final date for availing its amnesty scheme from February 28 to March 31.

The amnesty scheme for availing 100 per cent waiver of curiosity and penalty and 15 per cent rebate on principal quantity is being given to property taxpayers on lump sum cost of excellent property tax as much as March 31, he stated.

Jain stated the choice has been taken to facilitate these taxpayers who couldn’t deposit property tax on account of any purpose and couldn’t avail the advantage of the scheme. However, the company would get extra income. Therefore, this choice has been taken within the curiosity of the general public, he added.

No such scheme could be obtainable within the close to future, Jain stated.

The company had began a three-phase amnesty scheme for residents, in accordance with which if a citizen is unable to deposit excellent property tax within the first section on account of any purpose, then she or he can make the most of the scheme by depositing the excellent quantity within the second and equally within the third section.

Underneath this scheme, within the first stage, 100 per cent rebate on curiosity and penalty will probably be given on deposit of excellent property tax.
