The Iowa Department of Agriculture and Land Stewardship is now accepting applications for the 2026 Specialty Crop Block Grant Program, a federally funded initiative through the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Agricultural Marketing Service. The program supports projects that enhance the competitiveness of Iowa-grown specialty crops such as fruits, vegetables, tree nuts, horticulture, nursery crops and floriculture. Eligible Iowa-based agencies, universities, producers and community organizations may apply for grants of up to $30,000. Applications are due by 4 p.m. on March 27.

US battery company Lyten has finalised the purchase of Northvolt’s battery manufacturing and research assets in Sweden and established an industrial hub at the Skellefteå site. The transaction includes Northvolt Ett and Ett Expansion in Skellefteå, along with Northvolt Labs in Västerås, carrying a combined book value of about $5bn. Ferreira Abstract: We develop a market-based measure of firms’ and industries’ exposure to foreign trade disruptions. Combining this approach with detailed supervisory data, we quantify large U.S. banks’ exposure to such disruptions and propose a novel bank-level vulnerability index. We show that banks with greater exposure experienced significantly larger stock price declines following the April 2025 tariff announcements.
