Amir brothers withdraw Shufersal takeover bid

Date:

Yossi and Shlomi Amir have withdrawn the bid that they submitted on Sunday to purchase a controlling 24.9% stake in Shufersal Ltd. (TASE:SAE) for NIS 2.5 billion on account of objections from Paz Oil Firm (TASE: PZOL).

The brothers, who bought grocery store chain Freshmarket to Paz, had been providing NIS 28 per share for 88 million shares, a slight premium on Shufersal’s closing worth on Sunday of NIS 27.20.

The Amir brother’s lawyer stated that whereas they felt sure that their bid didn’t hurt Freshmarket, they had been nonetheless withdrawing their bid following Paz’s declare that the bid violated a 3 yr non-compete settlement.
