Brazil’s central bank has granted Ant International a payment institution licence.

Ant International already offers services in the country through Antom, its merchant payment and digitalisation platform.

Antom enables businesses to accept Pix, credit cards and other payment methods.

The company also provides embedded credit and treasury services, as well as financial AI and blockchain solutions.

Ant International processes more than 20 million transactions a day and connects two billion consumer accounts with 150 million merchants worldwide, according to the company.

    Rodrigo Reif

“With the Central Bank’s invaluable support, we are ready to step up more reliable and comprehensive global payment and account services to enterprises, platforms and SMEs in the country’s dynamic digital economy, in ever deeper collaboration with its highly developed payments ecosystem and financial services industry.”

said Rodrigo Reif, General Manager, Ant International Brazil.
