    The Bank of Thailand (BoT) has held rates as expected, while economists maintained their expectation that the bank would remain on an extended pause.

    Don Nakornthab, the secretary of the BoT’s monetary policy committee, said via a release today (August 26) that it had voted unanimously to keep its benchmark rate at 1%, a level at which it has been set since February. The move had been expected by all 24 economists polled by Bloomberg ahead of the decision.
